DOMS are hitting hard from the first couple of workouts I did post-holiday, however a quick 35 minute walk this morning seemed to loosen everything up (that is, until I had to take my shirt off over my head!).
I've had a couple of conversations about this liver-loving journey I’m on and it was good to explain it to a few people. It was interesting to go over a few foods that you generally think would be ok to eat, but when it comes to getting back to basics and cutting out sugar your vegetable intake needs to skyrocket! It really pays to prepare and cook your own food, otherwise you have no idea what’s going in it.
Talking about this really helped me get through the next couple of days as it just reinstated why I’m doing what I’m doing (even if it’s only for a short amount of my life). By already feeling the difference and having some positive feedback from some friends it has encouraged me to keep it up.
Surround yourself with supportive people – people that genuinely want you to succeed at whatever it is you are attempting. And in return, encourage them for something. We’re in a world where it seems all we want is acceptance from our peers, colleagues, families, friends, even your gym owner! Don’t be afraid to veer off the beaten track. And if you see someone veering off the beaten track, congratulate them for being brave. It takes guts.
Day 4 I definitely felt a lot more clear headed, and alert. Although I did talk about coffee, I didn’t have a prolonged longing for it throughout the morning.
The afternoon saw me preoccupied with the thought of going to the gym in the afternoon. The only way I negotiated myself into going was by agreeing to have a much needed day off tomorrow!
The workout was supersetting, so for those that know what that is, it meant I came out there looking like I had been caught in the rain (Re: sweaty!). There’s not many better feelings than knowing you worked hard in a workout, than getting home and having a nice long shower.
Bring on day 5. This will be interesting… After work drinks and nibbles where I have always raided the chips and dip – until now that is!

Why do we do what we do, when we know what we know?
