Day 60!
MADE IT!! The anticipation is all over – I survived the 60 days to tell (you) the tale! Who would have thought – 60 days with no caffeine, alcohol, sugar or processed foods. WELL, just to clear up any confusion, I think I stuck to this about 98% of the time. To be completely honest I could have totally done it 100%, it would have just meant being so organised with my food that the time it would have taken to prepare something for just myself would have cut into another aspect

Day 58 - 59
I’m pretty sure the last week has gone the fastest out of the whole time I’ve been doing this detox. Knowing I only have a few days to go before I’m “allowed” to have something I haven’t had for 60 days is getting me through the very last stint. Even though my mindset has been focussed on eating wholefoods and plenty of vegetables, nuts, seeds, grains and fruit, I have still found myself thinking about the processed foods I haven’t eaten in nearly a couple of months. However,

Day 55 & 56
A quiet weekend was well needed after a busy couple of weeks. Although, I do still find it interesting how weekends can dwindle away so quickly and before you know it, it’s late Sunday afternoon and you’re thinking about the upcoming week already! My weekend found me hitting the gym to work on some lower body exercises (hello elevated lunges, Romanian deadlifts and kettlebell squats!), pottering around the vege garden (those damn white butterflies will be the death of me!), e

Day 47 - 49
And here I was thinking all the tough weekends were over! I find preparation is really important when it comes to sticking to this detox. The couple of times I’ve just thought “oh nah, I’ll be right. There will be something I can eat!” and it’s been nearly the complete opposite. And without sounding like the super fussy/picky eater, I’m always wanting to fit in with whatever the group decides to do… A lovely two night trip away to a local beach was the perfect way to recharge

Day 43-45
I think my body has gone into shock! A full weekend of netball antics has taken its toll (am I getting old?!). Monday was a much needed rest day. I got up at my usual 6am and did a 35 minute flow yoga video that I found on doyogawithme.com and it was great. I’ve also done the 45 minute lower back, legs and hip stretch video and that’s amazing! After a big day at work with a lot of sitting and standing, it feels incredible to stretch everything out. I especially get tight hip

Day 41-42
So if I had thought I had challenges in the last 40-odd days, they were nothing compared to this weekend! I had contemplated not playing netball this year, as I have played nearly every year except about 5 years since I was 5. I felt like I was in a good place with my training and yoga, and was on a bit of a roll with my routine The season is quite long and it means giving up most Saturday’s for the next 5-6 months to play. The games are even at 3pm sometimes! So I thought I’

Day 39 & 40
Only 20 days to go! That's less than 3 weeks! I’m loving all of the feedback from this blog! Hearing positive things such as “I like what you’re doing with your blog!”, “I read your blog last night”, “I tried making this and that on the weekend and it turned out so well! It even got the approval from the boyfriend!”. A couple of people have even said they are going to join me for the second half of my detox and give up something that doesn’t seem to be serving them at the mom
